With the coronavirus still a threat around the globe, in the Kurdistan Region, the Erbil Operations Room issued some decisions and recommendations to combat the disease during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
A statement from the Erbil Operations Room on Wednesday requested citizens to avoid visits, contact, and any kind of gathering on Eid, which is on July 31.
It also said prayers in large gatherings at mosques would not be permitted to avoid the possible spread of the virus.
These regulations will be in effect across all provinces in the Kurdistan Region.
Banquet halls, night clubs, sports centers, swimming pools, bars, and spas will also remain closed.
On Wednesday, the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Health announced 309 cases of COVID-19 as new cases continue to emerge in Erbil and Sulaimani province.
The total number of cases in the Kurdistan Region since the global pandemic began is at 13,246, with 517 deaths.
